Easy Dog Tricks For Fun Training Sessions

One of the most fun things that you can do when you are training your dog is teach your dog how to do dog tricks. There are a great variety of dog tricks that your pooch can do, depending on its size and weight. There are some dog tricks that are more suitable for some dogs than other dogs. If you are uncertain about a dog trick, your dog will show you its preference for one trick over another by its behavior when you try to get the dog to do the trick.

For instance, if a dog is uncomfortable or unable to do a trick, it may refuse to do the trick at all. In this case, you should try another dog trick that is different from that dog trick. This could happen if you were trying to teach your dog to walk or dance on its two hind legs. Some dogs just do not find this to be a comfortable position because of the size of their trunk in comparison to their legs.

German Shepherd Health

Generally the German Shepherd is a healthy breed that can live an average of 12 to 16 years. If you have a well-bred German Shepherd then it likely won’t have any major problems. However, even an excellent German Shepherd is still susceptible to Canine Hip Dysphasia or CHD, which is a developmental skeletal problem in which the femur of the dog doesn’t sit correctly within the hip socket. Other minor German Shepherd health problems include Von Willebrand’s Disease, which is a blood disease that weakens the dog’s ability to form blood clots. If you do not care for your dog or bathe them regularly then they can also develop skin allergies.

It is important that you feed your dog a healthy diet. In order for your dog to have a long and happy life you should feed them fresh food. Most fresh meats are okay such as turkey, chicken and beef. However for a balanced diet you should also mix in some vegetables, rice and eggs.
By feeding a good and healthy diet, brushing the teeth as often as possible, regular grooming and providing plenty of exercise and attention you can make sure you keep your German Shepherd in excellent health. In order to spot any common German Shepherd health conditions before they become serious it is a good idea to perform a weekly home health exam. This can also help you to easily detect any changes that can occur due to injury, disease or dog related emergencies because you will be aware of your dog’s body.

How to Train Your Puppy Properly

Puppy training can begin along with house training, almost as soon as you arrive home with your pet. Encourage the puppy to sit before you place its food in front of it. The puppy will probably not respond at first, but will soon sit almost instinctively. Show the puppy what is requires by applying gentle pressure over its hindquarters, placing your thumb and finger on each side of its hips.

Sitting is a natural posture for a dog, so it will adopt this position readily. You can reinforce with praise, and in the beginning, treats. Your puppy must also learn its name, so always call and talk to it by name. Before long, the puppy will respond instinctively to your call.
